THE SHALLOWS by Jaume Collet-Serra

The Plot: Surfer Nancy goes to a lonely beach in order to forget her problems. Once in the water she is attacked by a great white shark and she’s forced to fight for her life, with no one to help her.

The cast: Blake Lively carries the all movie in her shoulders and does it nicely. It’s easy for us to feel empathy for her character and so we care for her life.

The Movie: It takes a little too much time to begin, but as soon as the shark appears we are glued to the screen. It’s true, there isn’t much more going on, except a beautiful lady trying to survive, but director Jaume Collet-Serra manages to build enough suspense to keep us entertained. Don’t think this is another boring OPEN WATER, the idea is similar, but here things are more interesting. Okay, I would have ended the movie before the epilogue, but the climax before it is a good one.

My Rate: 6 (from 1 to 10)
